There is a story, told in various formats, of a young man who goes to a spiritual master and says, "I want to find God." The master grabbed him, dragged him to the river, and held his head under water. The man kicked and struggled as the minutes passed until finally the master pulled him out. The master looked at the young man and asked, "What did you want most when you were under water?" "Air," the young man replied. The master nodded and said, "Very well. When you want to find God as much as you wanted air, come back to see me." This is an excellent example of what this scripture is saying. When we truly want God, we will find him.
